How have Islamic and Islamicate architectural forms, practices, and histories taken shape across the
Americas? Join us for a book launch engaging these questions and celebrating the recent publication
of Islamic & Islamicate Architecture in the Americas. The event features short talks by contributors,
followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A. Featuring Olivia Wolf (Loyola University
Chicago), Emily Neumeier (Temple University), and Courtney Lesoon (Macaulay Family Foundation
Postdoctoral Fellow, Smarthistory), moderated by Bihter Esener (Northwestern University).
Supported by Islamic World Studies, the Center for Research on International Affairs, and the
Department of Fine and Performing Arts at Loyola University Chicago.
